Ljubljana, 25 September, 2018: SIJ – Slovenian Steel Group hereby notifies the public on its intent to dispose of the shares of the company Perutnina Ptuj d.d.
SIJ d.d. hereby notifies the public on its intended disposal of the shares the company Perutnina Ptuj, for which, as the public had been informed several times in the past, various options were available. MHP Group, one of the global leaders in the food industry and a leading Ukrainian poultry producer, has filed a notice of concentration with the Slovenian Competition Protection Agency, thereby starting the necessary procedures to become a strategic partner of Slovenia’s largest food processing company.
Today, the Perutnina Ptuj Group is an exceedingly healthy and financially stable company, the credit for which goes to successful business and the effects of business optimisation over the past three years, when it was part of the SIJ Group. Even the SIJ Group’s plans for managing the Perutnina Ptuj Group explain the planned disposal of the Perutnina Ptuj d.d. shares, although the plan called for a disposal into a separate, new company. However, further options regarding the disposal of the Perutnina Ptuj investment became possible.
The fulfilment of the plan that the company be taken over by MHP, one of the leading international food processing groups, would, according to the SIJ Group, be wise and beneficial to the Perutnina Ptuj Group, the SIJ Group, and all other shareholders. In the coming years, MHP is willing to support Slovenia’s largest food processing group with investments, expansion, and the further development of the existing business model, which will have direct benefits, not only for the company, but also for the local breeders and employees.
Since the process is still underway, the SIJ Group will not give any detailed comments. They will be given by the SIJ Group and MHP after the finalisation of the procedures.
