At the 22nd Microsoft NT Conference, the SIJ Group and Microsoft officially embarked on a shared journey to digital transformation.
For some time now, Microsoft has been offering not just technological solutions, but also support for the digital transformation of various innovative companies such as the SIJ Group, one of Slovenia's largest employers and the pillar of the country's steel industry. Digitalization seems a particularly difficult task when it comes to production companies, but more can be achieved by working together and recognizing that digital transformation is an essential step for continued success in the future.
Yesterday, at the 22nd Microsoft NT Conference, Dr. Denis Mancevič, Member of the Management Board and CEO, and Robert Trnovec, General Manager of Microsoft Slovenia, signed a memorandum of cooperation on digital transformation. Working together, the companies will develop new business models, create new value for the customers and transform the SIJ Group into a more sustainable, customer-oriented organization.
The SIJ Group is looking to transform from predominantly a steel manufacturer into a provider of end-buyer solutions, to increase the level of further material processing and to offer premium products. In the first stage, Microsoft will provide support by helping them to navigate the many best practice examples of using modern technologies for a business transformation. By working together closely in the future, the two companies will overcome the main challenges for digitalization: providing the necessary resources and justifying the impact of investments and the anticipated benefits of new technologies.
