Bled gets its own sustainably-made pump track built using slag
From Friday, 13 October, Bled residents and visitors can spend their leisure time enjoying a new, sustainably-built pump track. The new sports facility is the result of the SIJ Group's partnership with the Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Federations (OKS – ZŠZ), the company Planapark and the Municipality of Bled. Sustainable pump tracks are unique projects that make use of a by-product of the steel industry – slag – to replace gravel and, as a result, make a significant contribution to reducing the consumption of natural resources.

PRODUCTION RESTARTS AT SIJ ACRONI AFTER ROLLING FRAME FAILURE IN THE HOT ROLLING MILL
SIJ Acroni successfully resumed production at its Hot Rolling Mill in October, following a significant failure in the rolling frame's main engine, commonly referred to as "blooming." Employees have already returned to work, and SIJ Acroni ensured the preservation of all jobs during this period. The extensive repair work was successfully completed in three months through collaboration with external partners, consistent with the initial estimates.

As part of Innovation Day, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS) awarded national prizes to the most innovative innovators in companies and other organizations for the twenty-first time. SIJ Group celebrated its innovation with two golden awards. SIJ Acroni convinced the jury with the innovation Development of High-Strength Steel SIMAXX 1100, and SIJ Metal Ravne with the innovation Development of Special Steels and Superalloys for the ITER Fusion Reactor.
